Todays service lead by Peter Tonks included the presentation of the annual JMA awards. The children collected their awards and many pinned them straight onto their ribbons and many are now collecting quite a few with our oldest collector running to two ribbons including a long service badge. The service had a the theme of "fishers of men" and included some lovely hymns and songs including a solo by Val playing "I am sailing" on her saxophone. The children decorated fishes and pinned these to the net at the end of the service to represent Jesus calling his disciples and people to follow him.

November Coffee Morning was a rainy and windy day, the rain lashed down on the windows, although for the many people who ventured out, a warm welcome greeted them at Coffee Morning, with tea/coffee and a delicious selection of home-made cakes available. It was good to see all the regular faces and some we haven't seen for a while, old and new friendships renewed. As more people arrived the noise level escalated, at times difficult to hear above the hub-bub of conversation until Lynda banged loudly on the table to gain our attention, as it was time to draw the raffle.
Pets as Therapy was our charity for this month, another worthwhile cause that will benefit from money raised over coffee and chat. |
