Some people were disappointed because tickets for the Quiz were limited and sold out very quickly. Those who made it enjoyed fish and chips from Dosthill. Mr Vincent Coggins was great as the quiz master and £129 was made for Church funds. The winnng team of Phil Mann, Pauline Sheward, Gill Mayberry, Dot Greenwood, Bob Walton and Marjorie Walton received bottles of wine and hand painted wooden spoons commemorating their success. Congratulations!
With the Methodists "Holy Habits" in full swing we held our annual "bring and share" lunch today after church. Twenty two people sat down and the food we had all brought turned out to be more than plentiful. Salad and sandwiches with sausage rolls and cheese was topped off by cake, trifle or chocolates.
Maundy Thursday Coffee morning was well attended today with over thirty people coming to chat and discuss the spring flowers and their plans for Easter. Much talk, tea and cakes as well as the raffle raised a total of £98 for the Air Ambulance support charity. It was also announced that £40 has been collected in the Water Aid Lenten charity jar.
