A group of about thirty enjoyed the sunny afternoon ramble around the village footpaths travelling down through Teals Wood and along the reservoir returning via Hayfields and through Bakehouse lane. We returned to find Phil and the ladies had prepared the BBQ and after a hearty supper we celebrated the creation of the new red district with a service lead by Rev Neil Johnson the district superintendent.
A great turnout again for our August coffee morning where we raised funds for ‘Back Up’ a charity supporting people who have had their lives changed through major spinal injuries. We welcomed some new faces this morning and some visiting friends and between us we raised the healthy sum of £125 to send to this charity. Many thanks to Dave and Manny Williams who were our hosts this morning, providing us with some great homemade cakes, and of course to all our generous supporters who come along for a good chat and a cuppa.
Whitacre Congregation is a vibrant mix of young and old who enjoy meeting for Sunday worship. Do come and join us.
