The centenary celebrations have at least reached a national scale as a write up of the recent festivities was seen on page 5 of the March 7th copy of the Methodist Recorder. This was obviously read as a few days a later a lovely card arrived from a David Cockram who started as a young inexperienced preacher on trial in the 1950's and visited our church. It is nice to think that so many people now know about our 100th birthday and a few even remember us. From page 5 March 7th 2014 but clearly read by David Cockram.
Do you know the answer? This was one of the many questions posed at a tightly fought quiz night between six tables of local teams. Much merriment and scratching of heads was spent in the picture round and no arguments had to be taken too seriously over the other question rounds. Over £200 was raised and the fish and chip supper was enjoyed by all. In case your still racking your brains then the answer is four!
An enjoyable morning with 13 children (and a few bigger children!) undertaking a wide range of Easter themed activities. Potato printed chickens, hand made cards, rabbit themed napkin holders were just some of the creative things that were on offer. After a short story about Jesus riding on a donkey relating to Psalm Sunday the children returned to the school room to enjoy a cake and some juice.
