![]() It was a good move to leave the Lent Water Aid collecting jar in the chapel for some extra days after Easter...only half full on Easter Day it was magically full to the brim this Sunday morning thanks to some generous last minute contributions! All those coppers and other small coins reached the splendid total of £70 which will be sent off to Water Aid, helping to provide clean drinking water to some of the poorest communities in the world. That is our best Lent total to date, so well done to all!
The Methodist Messy Church Team were very pleased to welcome 20 children, their parents and some grandparents to an Easter Egg Hunt. The children made and decorated Easter Baskets and then were let loose to find tokens that they could exchange for chocolate eggs. The weather was kind to us so that we were able to use the garden and the Chapel. While some cleared up for Tea, Jacky told the children the amazing Easter story. We hope that everyone enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did, everything seems brighter if it involves chocolate, doesn’t it?
Please pencil the date of Saturday, July 28th in your diaries because we would love to invite you to a Picnic in the Park on Birmingham Road. Let’s hope that the sun will shine for us. A great turnout and several new faces at this month’s coffee morning and a lovely sunny day! A healthy sum of £103 raised for Greenfingers, our April charity.
