We collect stamps for the Leprosy Mission. It is hard to believe that a bunch of used stamps can help transform the life of someone affected by leprosy. But the fact is that it can! Over the past 30 years the Leprosy Mission has raised more than £1 million to benefit people affected by leprosy. Find out more here
Bring us your ring pulls as these are sent to people in the Philippines to be made into jewellery. We have already sent one batch off and have decided to continue to collect ring pulls as they are worth 3p each to the Purple Community Fund. They will send them to the women homeworkers in the Philippines.....so bring your ring pulls from drinks cans only please, to the collecting container which is back in the chapel kitchen.

Forward planning events for the Bi-Centenary of Whitacre Chapel
Whitacre Methodist Church was founded and opened in 1820 on a site in Birmingham Road moving to the current building in Station Road which was completed in 1914.
Plans are now being developed to celebrate this massive achievement over the year since the first paperwork mentioning the chapel in late 1819 through to its opening in 1820. A short history book is being written and preachers are already being booked to make what promises to be a big year. Some will remember that we celebrated the actual centenary in style over a big weekend in February which coincided with the actual opening day on 7th Feb 1914. We are now looking forward to an even bigger series of events throughout the bicentenary year of Methodism in Whitacre in 2020.
